When any student is planning to pursue an MBA, the very first step is to appear the Entrance Exam. To take admission in any of Top B-School or University the common and compulsory step is to have a good percentage in Graduation and score qualifying.
But, now the question is which Entrance exam an aspirant must appear. As there are more than 50 MBA Entrances being conducted every year. The test is conducted on the state level, or national level and few at the institute level.
Though students are quite sure which colleges can make their career robust but unfortunately, they don’t have an idea which entrance exam is going open the door of your dream College.

1. CAT(Common Admission Test)
CAT is national-level management entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). CAT scores are used for admission to various management institutes across the country.
CAT Exams are generally conducted in the month of November-December every year. The eligibility criteria of CAT entrance are to have at least 50% mark or equivalent CGPA. For SC/ST/PWD/DA the eligibility criteria is 45%. The students who are in final year of graduation or degree can also appear CAT Entrance.
2. CMAT(Common Management Admission Test)
CMAT is a national-level computer-based management entrance test which is conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in the beginning of every year (mostly in Jan-Feb).
The duration of this exam is three hours having segments of Quantitative technique, Logical reasoning, Comprehensive language and General awareness
3. XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)
XAT is a national level exam conducted by on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes. XAT Score can help a student to take admission in more than 100 institutes of MBA or PGDM Program.
This exam is considered as one of the most difficult entrance to crack as it requires an equal focus on different sections like Quantitative, Logical Reasoning & English Language, Decision making and General Knowledge. Apart from that, there are negative marks for every unattempt question and wrong question.
4. SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)
SNAP is a national-level management entrance conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU). This is purely computer based test conducted for 2 Hours across 102 cities. SNAP test is held at the yearend followed by Group Discussion and Interview.
The merit list of admission is decided to take 50% of Written Score, 10% of Group Discussion, 30% of Personal Interview and 10% of Written Ability Test(WAT). Considering all these points and rating out of 100 Scale the final admission list gets out in the month of Feb-March.
5. NMAT by GMAC
A computer-based exam conducted by Pearson VUE across 35 locations in India. The candidate has the provision to select a suitable date/time/exam venue as per their conveniences.
With the valid score of NMAT Entrance, one can apply to Top Universities like SRM University, VIT University, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Ansal University, BML Munjal University, ICFAI Business School (IBS) and Alliance University.
6. MAT( Management Aptitude Test)
Most common entrance for management aspirants conducted 4 times in a year. This test is a national level computer based whose score can help one to apply more than 600 plus B-School’s for MBA and PGDM Course.
Know Best MBA Colleges Under MAT Entrances
As mentioned, this exam is held 4 times in a year: February MAT, May MAT, September MAT and December MAT. The format of MAT Entrance is quite simple where a student has to face 200 questions in 150 Minutes. The question will cover different sections like, General Awareness, Comprehension Reading, Data Analysis, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning.
7. IIFT Exam( Indian Institute of Foreign Trade)
IIFT is the Best Business School in India, which organize this written test for MBA program. Based on the written score, students get a call for next round of Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Essay Writing.
This exam is scheduled in the month of December, where candidates have to face 120-150 questions in 120 minutes.
8. AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA)
ATMA is a computer-based management test conducted every year at the national level for multiple times.
In this test candidate gets evaluated Verbal Reasoning, Analysing and Synthesizing ability, Numerical Reasoning. The exam duration is of 180 minutes where one gets 180 multiple choice questions. For every correct answer students get awarded with 1 mark and for the wrong answer get a negative mark of 0.25 marks.
ATMA Scores is valid for MBA Institutes in Maharashtra and to other National level colleges.
9. IBSAT
IBSAT is a computer-based exam, conducted by The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education in the month of December and result gets out in the month of January.
The test pattern for IBSAT exam consists of 140 questions in 120 minutes with no negative marks. With the score of IBSAT exam, one can take admission in 9 campuses of ICFAI Business School (IBS) campuses.
10. MHCET
Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is organized by Directorate of Technical Education for management courses. The admission is carried by State of Maharashtra under Centralized Admission Process (CAP)
The candidate will get 150 minutes to attend multiple-choice based 200 questions. This test is conducted across Maharashtra which can lead student to take admission in Best MBA Colleges in that State.
11. KIITEE MBA
This computer-based test conducted by KIIT University across 15 cities.In the format of a management test, one gets 150 minutes to attend 150 questions.
After qualifying in the written test, students have to again appear, Group, Discussion and Personal Interview round.
If one qualifies KIITEE MBA test, then they can take admission in KIIT School of Management and even the score of CAT,MAT,XAT,CMAT and GMAT entrances is accepted by this Institute.
12. OJEE MBA
OJEE MBA test is conducted in the month of May by Government of Odisha and results get declared in June. This test consists of five sections, consisting of 120 Questions with a time limit of 120 minutes.
This state-level exam is held in different districts of Odisha where one can take admission in various state-level universities or colleges.
13. MPMET
MPMET test is also a state-level Common Aptitude Test organized by Madhya Pradesh state government. This entrance is generally conducted in the month of March, qualifying which one can take admission in any state’s government or private Colleges and AICTE approved universities.
The total duration of the exam will be 165 minutes where one gets 200 number of questions covering six different sections like, Verbal and Writing Ability, Data Sufficiency, Data Interpretation, Numerical, Business Judgment and Reading Comprehension.
