IIMs have announced to declare CAT 2017 Results on January 5, 2018. The result can have a buffer of maximum 2 days. That implies you will know the chances of being selected in a top business school max by 7 January.
The top tier IIMs will announce shortlisted candidates List immediately after the CAT 2017 Results are declared.
The top tier IIMs including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta will conduct individual selection process for admissions including GD, WAT and Personal Interview round.
Out of 13 new IIMs, 11 will pool their selection process under CAP (Common Admission Process). The CAP will be conducted in the month of February under the supervision and coordination of IIM Rohtak. IIM Rohtak will also be responsible for shortlisting candidates for CAP for 11 IIMs.
