Why an MBA Aspirant Must Appear December MAT?

We all know that the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) four times a year i.e. February, May, September and December.

Since MAT entrance exams happen 4 times a year, most of them are confused with what is the ideal time to go for this exam and therefore to clear all this dilemma the counselors of ApnaMBA.com recommend for December MAT because of the following reasons:

Why December MAT?

  1. Best back-up after CAT: Whenever we go for appearing any kind of competitive exam it is always advisable by the experts to keep your options open as the situations in these kinds of exams are quite dicey and unpredictable.

A similar case might occur when you are writing CAT and if you are satisfied enough with your own performance then December MAT can be a great

back-up as the scores of these exams are widely accepted by the top B-schools in India.

  1. Difficulty Level: The MAT entrance exam’s level of difficulty is comparatively moderate as compared to other MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT, etc. Hence, higher chances of converting into a top management institute.

  1. Ideal time: Since December is the time when most of the MBA aspirants are in the state of writing exams and preparing their best because of exams like CAT  and XAT.

Hence, going for the slot of December MAT would be ideal as one would already be in the phase of studying and preparing.

  1. Why not September, February & May MAT? If you are planning for September MAT then it is way too early to plan your admissions as the academic session for most of the colleges start in next year’s June or July only.

Then,  if you are planning for February MAT the level of difficulty of the selection procedure like Group Discussions (GDs) and Personal Interviews (PIs) is higher.

And if you are planning for May MAT Entrance Exam then it is way too late as most of the colleges shut down their application form by the end of March

    or April.

  1. First come, first serve: Most of the colleges under MAT Entrance Exam take admissions on the basis of first-come, first-serve that is why appearing for December MAT is ideal enough as the application process would have just started and results of others like CAT aren’t declared.

We hope this article was helpful enough for you to decide to go for which MAT entrance exam slot.
